  Black figure lekythos While researching Greek art this vase automatically caught my eye out of all the pieces. I chose this piece because I think it is so interesting that in such an early time era pieces of art were created like this. This piece is so interesting to me because of the detail in the painting as well as the shape of the vase, the detail in the horse's body and the proportion of the body parts and the face on the man are what really caught my eye because it is not accurate but you know exactly what is going on. This vase was most likely made of clay or stone and finished and painted with pigmented glazes and colors. The purpose of this piece is for show, this piece also shows something called inscription which was a way of writing, this piece most likely is telling a story.
